The Power Flow Gathering
This Autumn, you are invited to join us at 42 Acres, between Nov 23-25th 2026, for our inaugural gathering.
“What changes when the funding ecosystem has the courage and resourcing it needs to nurture ?”
~ Delfina Zagarzazu ~
A gathering for the eco-system to integrate care
Nurture Now emerges from a recognition that care is not peripheral to life or to the economy, but foundational to both. As Tim Jackson proposes, care is “the foundation for life itself”: the relational fabric through which health, belonging, resilience, and meaning become possible.
The Gathering is an invitation to inquire together into what becomes possible when care is restored as the organising principle of decision-making — not as sentimentality, but as rigorous attention to interdependence, reciprocity, and the conditions that allow life to flourish.
From this perspective, regenerative practice is not an add-on to existing systems; it is the natural outcome of economies, institutions, and cultures designed around care.
Throughout the gathering we work with a simple lens:
how care is held,
how power is organised
how capital flows across ourselves, our organisations, and the wider ecosystem.
This lens helps us move beyond theory and intention to locate where misalignments, tensions and opportunities for change actually sit in practice.
“Power and resource are flowing every minute of every day, but it's often unconscious.”
~ Jo Musker-Sherwood ~
Power Flow
This year’s theme explores Care, Power and Capital Flow.
Across the gathering, we will be working with our Power Flow Practice — a living practice developed over the last two years to make visible the often unconscious patterns shaping how we relate, organise and resource life.
At its core, the practice invites three movements:
1. Seeing Clearly
Surfacing the patterns of care, power and capital flow operating within ourselves, our communities and wider society.
2. Naming the Pattern
Recognising where care is present or absent, where power is concentrated or avoided, and where resources sustain or extract from life.
3. Re-patterning Practice
Choosing what we want to strengthen, redistribute, resist or regenerate — in ourselves, in our relationships, and in the wider systems we are part of.
This practice touches every aspect of life: how we care for ourselves and all our kin, how we build community, how we navigate family and work, and how we shape the economies — relational, ecological and financial — that create our shared future.
Agenda
Our time together will include a healthy mix of healthy being (rest and retreat) and decisive doing (courageous actions and collaborations). Here is a snapshot of the sessions, all of which will be nestled in practices of individual and collective nurture.
Day 1 - Seeing Clearly (Care)
What are we actually here to care for?
Session: “What is being cared for?”
Session: “What is not being cared for?”
Session: ‘Time and urgency - what kinds of time are we living by, what becomes visible when we slow down, what is urgent vs important?’
Outcomes: new perception of care, harm, crisis and time; collective honesty; active creation of the conditions of care needed for individual and collective thriving.
Day 2 - Facing Reality (Power & Flow)
How are capital and flow actually operating?
Session: Power: who decides? Where is power invisible or avoided?
Session: Flow: Where is resource flowing easily? Where is it blocked or extractive?
Integration session: Where are misalignments between: Care vs Power vs Flow?
Outcomes: visibility of system dynamics, tools to identify and navigate trade-offs, tools to integrate caring and regenerative governance.
Day 3 - Moving Differently (Integration to Action)
What becomes possible now?
Session: Re-design: care led, conscious power, flow in service
Individual commitments: self, organisation, eco-system
Collective weaving: Identify shared experiments / next steps
Outcomes: concrete actions, shared responsibility.
“A deeply practical gathering which brings key ecosystem players together to set the scene for 2027”
~ Sophie Bray ~
Who will be attending?
We recognise that meaningful transformation requires participation of people working from many different positions within the ecosystem. We can no longer afford to work in silos.
This journey is designed for professionals working across different funding ecosystems. This gathering has been intentionally designed for those who play a role in shaping and supporting thriving ecosystems for social and environmental change.
Whether you are a place-based practitioner, grantee or investee, end beneficiary, capital flow shaper, grant manager, philanthropist, impact investor, institutional funder, trustee, thought leader, consultant, advisor, or guide helping to influence the direction of our collective work, if this space calls to you, then it is for you.
If you feel a resonance with the purpose of this gathering and a call to contribute your experience and leadership, we warmly invite you to apply. We are seeking a diverse group of participants who are committed to exploring new possibilities for how resources, relationships, and power can flow in service of greater impact.
By examining the unconscious dynamics that guide our relationship with funding, this pioneering cohort will begin to notice blind spots, reconnect with systemic awareness, and rethink leadership and power dynamics on an interconnected planet.
By the end of the journey, you will have:
Met peers in the ecosystem and delved into some of the most pressing questions around power, flow and care as it relates to the funding ecosystem and beyond.
Identified some of our own and our collective blind spots (the untrue assumptions that are lived as true) that limit and cause harm to ourselves, and across organisations.
Experienced the Power Flow Practice that allows you to continue this work for yourself, your family, community and your organisation. A practical framework to examine care, power, and capital flows in your day-to-day work.
A clear and achievable set of next steps.
A renewed sense of connection to yourself and your focus.
What you will gain
“In a time of increasing urgency and limited capacity, creating space to slow down, restore perspective, and identify practical next steps is not stepping away from the work, it is an essential part of doing it well.”
~ Olivia Sibony ~

Activities on site include wild swimming, sauna, fireside cooking and more. We will include more details about our specific wellbeing activities closer to the date.
Arrival: 11am on Monday 23rd November
Departure: 2pm on Wednesday 25th November
We appreciate that different roles within grantmaking eco-systems come with different levels of resourcing. What makes this journey so valuable is the bringing together of multiple roles within grantmaking systems, rather than simply holding space for either ‘grantee’ or ‘funder’ in individual silos.
Please choose the option the best fits your situation:
Investment & Application Process

Register your interest, apply for a subsidised place or offer to ‘pay it forward’ using this application form.
The question of how resource might flow healthily between us all is one of the key questions that lies at the heart of funding and investment.
For that reason, we have chosen to be truly transparent with the costing of the Nurture Now journey and provide different options for participants as well.
If you’d like to know how we’ve arrived at the figures we have, including our contributions and how we’ve used the grant from Be The Earth Foundation, and cancellation policy you can read more here.

Financial support from Be the Earth Foundation is enabling us to offer spaces to those usually unable to participate, allowing us to offer one of the few living labs where the entire eco-system can begin to come together.
We have been fortunate to participate in Global Optimism’s Climate and Nature Leaders Retreat in 2024 at Plum Village France. Our time and inner development there helped plant the seed that sprouted into Nurture Now.
Nurture Now has, in part, grown out of the learnings of the Working Well Network which brings together environmental practitioners, including funders and grantees, to explore how to ‘work well’, both in terms of wellbeing and impact.
