The Nurture Now Retreat
This Fall, you are invited to join us at 42 Acres between Nov 23-25, 2026 for our inaugural retreat.
What changes when the funding ecosystem has the courage and resourcing it needs to nurture ?
An experience for the eco-system to integrate care
Nurture Now emerges from a recognition that care is not peripheral to life or to the economy, but foundational to both. As Tim Jackson proposes, care is “the foundation for life itself”: the relational fabric through which health, belonging, resilience, and meaning become possible.
The Nurture Now Retreat is an invitation to inquire together into what becomes possible when care is restored as the organising principle of decision-making — not as sentimentality, but as rigorous attention to interdependence, reciprocity, and the conditions that allow life to flourish.
From this perspective, regenerative practice is not an add-on to existing systems; it is the natural outcome of economies, institutions, and cultures designed around care.
This journey is designed for professionals working across different funding ecosystems . Our background is spread across climate, corporate and social funding.
Some actors across the ecosystem may include (this is not an exhaustive list):
Place Based Practitioners
Grantees/investees (of all scales)
End Beneficiaries
Capital Flow Shapers
Grant Managers (or other decisin makers in funding organisations)
Individual Philanthropists or impact investors
Institutional funders, trusts and foundations
Thought Leaders
Consultants and others in philanthropic and investment advisory and support services
Guides participating in shaping our ecosystem
Trustees of funding organisations
You can come together - if you have a relationship that you want to cultivate and invest in, message us for preferential fees for ‘Investor & Grantee Rate’.
What happens Before & After the Retreat?
When we came together to design an experience for our ecosystem we knew we wanted to design a ‘before and after’ to move beyond reflection alone.
Identifying trade offs, practical shifts, experiments, and pathways towards organising care, power, and capital differently in practice.
Together we will:
Identify the Tensions – 1:1 call with to name the tensions you are observing in your eco-system.
Map to Co-Design – Group call to visualise and map the tensions our eco-systems face.
Nurture Now Retreat – 3 day, 2 night, in person immersion at 42 Acres in November. Nurture Now will facilitate full days to guide you through reflection, emergence and into action. Each day will move between reflection, restoration and application, using a shared framework to map real decisions, relationships, and resource flows across the ecosystem to keep our time grounded in healthy being and decisive doing.
Next Steps & Community–2-3 weeks post retreat we will host open space to further develop the actions born from individual and collective insights to keep your ideas alive and practical.
Taking Action with Support – 5-6 weeks post-retreat we will host a group call to reflect on your insights when beginning to embed and integrate. This will also be a space to co-design continued integration and support.
Our Commitment
Seeding Change - sharing the outcomes to ripple outcomes to other funding circles. Led by Nurture Now, others will be actively encouraged to participate as their capacity allows.
We recognise the funding ecosystem is at a crossroads
Organisations are feeling the heavy responsibility of meeting the demands of an increasingly complex set of crises. Individuals feel the tensions in funding ecosystems that intend to deliver positive impact and yet often do not fully achieve what is required.
Despite these shared experiences, we often work in silos without spaces to deeply examine root causes, share capacity, carefully innovate, and identify practical pathways towards more regenerative approaches.
Throughout the Nurture Now Retreat we work with a simple lens:
how care is held,
how power is organised
how capital flows across ourselves, our organisations, and the wider ecosystem.
This lens helps us move beyond theory and intention to locate where misalignments, tensions and opportunities for change actually sit in practice.
“"In a time of increasing urgency and limited capacity, creating space to slow down, restore perspective, and identify practical next steps is not stepping away from the work, it is an essential part of doing it well."”
Olivia Sibony
42 Acres invites guests to experience themselves as nature as they explore ways to take care of, and live in conversation with, our sacred world.
You’re welcome to explore 173 acres of wild spaces – ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, a 7-acre lake, and their pioneering nature restoration projects.
Participants will arrive at 11am on Monday 23rd November and leave at 2pm on Wednesday 25th November.

Transparency in our costings
The question of how resource might flow healthily between us all is one of the key questions that lies at the heart of funding and investment.
For that reason, we have chosen to be truly transparent with the costing of the Nurture Now journey and provide different options for participants as well.
If you’d like to know how we’ve arrived at the figures we have, including our contributions and how we’ve used the grant from Be The Earth Foundation, and cancellation policy you can read more here.
Investment & Application Process
We have up to 15 spaces available for our pioneering cohort.
We appreciate that different roles within grantmaking eco-systems come with different levels of resourcing. What makes this journey so valuable is the bringing together of multiple roles within grantmaking systems, rather than simply holding space for either ‘grantee’ or ‘funder’ in individual silos.
Please choose the option the best fits your situation:
Pay It Forward £1,500
If you consider yourself well resourced, we invite you to consider ‘paying it forward’ so we can offer subsidised places to those who might not otherwise be able to attend. Our hope is that this will ensure a diverse mix of roles in this pioneering cohort, ultimately benefiting everyone in our joint enquiry.
Nurture Now £850
If you consider you can afford our standard Nurture Now ticket, this will cover all the costs including our facilitation fees.
Your fee will include participation, accommodation and meals. Travel is not included.
Register your interest, apply for a subsidised place or offer to ‘pay it forward’ using this application form.
What you will gain
By examining the unconscious dynamics that guide our relationship with funding, this pioneering cohort will begin to notice blind spots, reconnect with systemic awareness, and rethink leadership and power dynamics on an interconnected planet.
Conflict across the ecosystem will begin to transform, and the harm experienced by those doing the work will be reduced.
By the end of the journey, you will have:
Experienced for yourself some of the conditions needed for improving (well)being and impact.
Explored a new way of seeing the intersection of individual wellbeing & collective impact, and what this means for you and your organisation.
Identified some of our own and our collective blind spots (the untrue assumptions that are lived as true) that limit and cause harm to ourselves, and across organisations.
Gained insights into other mental models (ways of perceiving) that form the foundations of seismic and achievable change.
Experienced processes that allow you to continue this work after you have completed the journey, for yourself and your organisation.
A practical framework to examine care, power, and capital flows in your day-to-day work.
A clear and achievable set of next steps.
A renewed sense of connection to yourself and your focus.
Your Hosts
You will be guided and supported by the 3 Nurture Now Founders Delfina, Jo and Sophie.
About Us here.
Nurtured by
Financial support from Be the Earth Foundation is enabling us to offer spaces to those usually unable to participate, allowing us to offer one of the few living labs where the entire eco-system can begin to come together.
We have been fortunate to participate in Global Optimism’s Climate and Nature Leaders Retreat in 2024 at Plum Village France. Our time and inner development there helped plant the seed that sprouted into Nurture Now.
Nurture Now has, in part, grown out of the learnings of the Working Well Network which brings together environmental practitioners, including funders and grantees, to explore how to ‘work well’, both in terms of wellbeing and impact.
